Why does everyone say Obama legislated 'hard left'?

They are more anti Obama than anti policy. Obama upset his own base by not governing far enough to left in there view for some. He has really governed from the middle on most issues. We didn't get universal healthcare either so I don't know what all the commotion is about. We got a private co-op of private companies and some additional regulations. Basically the new ideology of the right is if it's not tax cuts and deregulation it's all hard left. That's the message there running on to win seats and they know people are scared.
