Is it true that eating a cantaloupe can induce labor?

If not what are the best ways to induce labor (NOT OR WALKING OR CASTOR OIL)? Any new and safe ideas? Thanks to everyone in advance....btw my friend is 37 weeks going on 38 weeks on Monday and the poor thing's desperate : (
