What do you think of this vignette?

Try not to use too many adjectives or adverbs. I'd take "unwarranted" out. I'd take out "the" in front of "dust" to keep the meter going. Why kick the old woman? Seems kinda violent, and why in the face? If she's ordinary and common, she wouldn't be sacred or grotesque.
